Relevance (context) of the subject of the article. Inclusive culture is one of the fundamental components of the inclusive environment of educational organizations. The study of this parameter, including the inclusive culture of preschool educational institutions, and its significance for inclusive practice remains relevant in Russian science.

The aim of the study. The work carried out a pilot study of the inclusiveness of the culture of a preschool educational organization as a factor that can influence the subjective readiness of teachers to apply inclusive practices in the context of the inclusion of children with special educational needs.

Methods of the study. The study was conducted using adapted scales-questionnaires, compiled on the basis of those used in international studies. The adaptation included changing the statements of the questionnaires for use in a preschool educational organization. The number of statements in the questionnaires and Likert scales remained unchanged. The following scales were used: attitudes towards inclusion, concerns about teaching in an inclusive environment, teachers’ self-efficacy in implementing inclusive practices, and intentions to implement inclusive practices. Questionnaires are given in appendices A, B, C, D. The sample consisted of 20 respondents, employees of preschool organizations in Moscow, including 15 educators, 2 tutors and 3 support specialists (speech therapist, special educator, educational psychologist).

Description of the research progress. The obtained results show that the attitude towards inclusion among teachers is ambiguous: most teachers are more likely to accept the values of inclusion, some of them are closer to undecided and 2 respondents expressed a negative attitude. The willingness to implement inclusive practices was reflected in the indicators of self-efficacy scales and the intention to implement inclusive practices. Correlation analysis showed that the scales of self-efficacy and intention were statistically significantly (p<0.001) positively associated with a high close relationship on the Chaddock scale, while there was a trend between the scales of attitudes towards inclusion and concern about difficulties in implementing inclusive practices (0.05<p<0.1) to a moderate negative relationship.

Research results. Thus, the set of methods used for the first time in the Russian sample revealed the contradictory nature of attitudes towards inclusion in the organization and the likely lack of support for it, which may indicate insufficient inclusiveness of the culture of the ECE. At the same time, the readiness to implement inclusive values among most teachers may indicate a personal commitment to their implementation.

The article presents an attempt to identify the main characteristics of children’s information environment and show their influence on the psychology of modern children. In the analysis of modern market of toys, books and movies, the author states some of the paradoxes of modern socio-cultural situation. One of them is the fact that the majority of information products for children are not designed for the age peculiarities of its destination. Other paradox is that increased demands on cognitive development of children combined with overly caring attitude to their physical security and autonomy. The desire to make the life of their children easier, to protect them from any risk, effort and hardship is the dominant trend of modern education. As a result, children are setting on consumption, which is amplified by the expansion of modern media and video production for children. In the second part of the article discusses the problems of modern children due to the characteristics of children’s subculture. Among them, the underdevelopment of the motive sphere, disorders of speech development, lack of imagination, communication difficulties, lack of autonomy and self-organization. The author concludes that modern children’s subculture inhibits the development of personality of the child and leads to deficiency of motivation.

Justification of the study. Increasing the financial literacy of the population is one of the priority areas of the policy of the Russian Federation. The Strategy for Increasing Financial Literacy, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation, singles out work with preschool children as an educational area. At the same time financial literacy is not the only basis for the formation of financially literate and rational behavior. A number of studies put forward the thesis about the need to form the financial culture of the individual as a broader concept that includes knowledge, skills, moral and value aspects. In relation to preschool children, it is necessary to substantiate aspects of financial culture and the factors influencing its formation. Recent research shows the role of family factors and educational institution, but little consideration is given to the influence of the children’s community and the possibilities of the children’s subculture.

Description of the study. The research procedure included a conversation with children aimed at studying financial and economic representations, whether children have piggy banks, play as elements of a children’s subculture associated with the financial culture of preschoolers; solution of economic problems; unfinished stories and case studies aimed at studying value orientations and financial behavior. The study involved 52 children of senior preschool age from various cities of Russia.

Results. The study revealed a connection between the preferred games and the ways of solving financial and economic situations by children, between the presence of piggy banks, the experience of accumulation and the ability to postpone desires, and the difference in making financial decisions.

Conclusion. The data obtained confirm the assumption about the influence of children’s subculture as a factor in the formation of financial culture of older preschool children. Such elements of children’s subculture as piggy banks, play on financial and economic topics are available means of forming and developing financial culture in children.

Relevance. In the modern world more researchers and practitioners from different fields are preoccupied with the changing the shape of a child in society: a child is not an object of pedagogical influence, but a subject whose opinion is valuable and should be taken into account when making decisions that directly concern him. The possibility for children to be heard at preschool age is an important basis for the development of civic competencies that do not appear by themselves at an older age. At the same time, the researchers also note that there is a gap between the recognition of the value of child and real practice. The possibility not only to hear the voices of young children, but also to make them visible and significant in society, to offer children the means of expressing their opinions is a methodological challenge for researchers and practitioners of preschool education, which requires special competencies.

The aim of the study is to analyze modern studies and projects devoted to the professional competencies of a teacher and the conditions accompanying their development necessary for the implementation of the principle of participation in educational practice.

Description of the research progress. 19 studies and projects were analyzed from the point of view of the possibilities and limitations of the implementation of the principle of participation in educational practice. Two key aspects were identified: the possibilities and limitations of the implementation of the principle of participation in educational practice, which include teachers’ ideas about participation and the influence of the broader context of the community and organizational culture, and professional competencies of teachers necessary for support their participation in kindergarten and primary school, and approaches to their development.

The results of the study. In the article the problem of implementing the principle of participation is considered not only in the context of the structure of a separate preschool group, but also in the organizational culture of the kindergarten as a whole. The authors conclude that it is necessary to reflect on the ideas of participation in order to create conditions for its support in kindergarten, as well as the need for a comprehensive study of factors related to the organizational culture of the kindergarten, which can influence the development of participatory practices. Based on the analysis, two groups of pedagogical competencies were identified: general competencies necessary to create basic conditions for participation, and more specific competencies necessary to empower children’s opportunities to influence decision-making.

Conclusion. The article formulates recommendations for training preschool teachers and kindergarten teams.

In this paper the author explores how our ideas about early learning have developed over time and proposes a new view of pedagogy, that is not based on the traditional Model of Deprivation, but outlines a new model which goes beyond deprivation. The new model proposes that the child is not deprived of culture, rather the child is deprived of opportunities for creating culture and dealing with culture. In this new perspective the child is not viewed as passive but active. The aim of schools should be to provide an “enabling culture” in which the child is involved in reinventing, refurbishing and refreshing the culture. The paper also identifies and explores

    3 antinomies which have emerged as ideas about early learning developed;

    • the ‘individual realisation’ versus the ‘culture serving’ antinomy

    • the ‘talent centred’ versus the ‘tool centred’ antinomy

    • the ‘particularism‘ versus the ‘universalism’ antinomy.

It is argued that an exploration of these 3 antinomies can provide a useful basis for thinking about what we have learned about early learning and where we are moving in current development.

The conclusion of this paper is that children from the start must be accepted as members and as participants in the culture and be given the opportunity to make and remake the culture in each generation. The case is made that we should stop thinking about deprivation of children and start thinking about participation of children.

Relevance (context) of the article. Various media products are becoming an integral part of modern childhood, transmitting cultural patterns, moral norms, values and knowledge to the child. A cartoon, as a popular form of art, can have a high developmental potential for children and form their prosocial behavior. Considering how much a modern child watches various media products, it is extremely important to understand how and under what conditions a cartoon can become a means of child development.

The aim of the study. Consideration of the mechanisms of influence of the cartoon on the child, as well as conditions for enhancing the developmental potential of media products. In accordance with the aim, the tasks were set to develop a form of work with children “Children’s Cinema Evening “, as well as to test its effectiveness with the help of a formative experiment.

Description of the research progress. Based on the analysis of research in the field of media influence on a child, we have described the mechanisms of this influence, and also developed principles that allow us to enhance the developing potential of a cartoon. They consist in: matching the content to the age characteristics of the child, demonstrating prosocial behavior by characters on the screen, active participation of an adult in viewing, and consolidating the experience gained in practice through games and exercises. Based on these scientific data, we have developed the aims, objectives, structure and organization of the “Children’s Cinema Evening “, in which the cartoon acts as a means of children’s development. The effectiveness of the Cinema Evening for the formation of prosocial behavior was confirmed by a formative experiment, which was conducted on the basis of the private kindergarten “Interesting Kindergarten” in two stages. The study involved 39 children aged 5-6 years. The experimental group included 20 children aged 5-6 who attended a Children’s Cinema Evening 2 times a month in small groups for six months in the 2019/2020 academic year. The control group included 19 children aged 5-6 years.

Research methods used: “Map of observations on the manifestations of communicative abilities in preschool children” (Shchetinina A.M.), “Unfinished Stories”, “Pictures” (E.O. Smirnova, V.M. Kholmogorova).

Research results. The results of the formative experiment showed that the active participation of an adult in watching a cartoon by children on the basis of the principles we have outlined within the framework of the Children’s Cinema Evening forms prosocial behavior in senior preschool children (development of empathy and goodwill, formation of prosocial attitudes and reduction of aggression in a conflict situation).

Conclusions. “Children’s Cinema Evening” as a modern form of work with children using media technologies, allows you to effectively use the developing potential of a cartoon for the formation of prosocial behavior in senior preschoolers.

Influential studies in different countries over recent years show significant changes in child-rearing culture, or parenting practices and attitudes that are considered good and correct. Studies have also been conducted in Russia but so far, they have been few. Based on the analysis of existing studies, as well as 50 interviews with mothers of preschool age children conducted in 2014-2018, the paper examines the specifics of intensive parenthood. Among these features, we have identified the following: 1) intensive methods of upbringing (which require a lot of time, money and substantial emotional work), 2) parental determinism (the belief that all actions taken with the child and all decisions related to the upbringing of the child have an impact on the rest of the child’s life) and the attitude about the critical importance of early childhood, 3) optimization of the environment around the child, control over various aspects of the child’s life, 4) reliance on scientific and expert knowledge in upbringing, rather than on personal experience or tradition. These features of modern parents in Russia are important for effective communication between parents and teachers, as well as for the development of educational programs for parents implemented by preschool organizations. Such programs can become a support for parents in overcoming the difficulties caused by the modern model of child upbringing. It is particularly important to focus not on improving the skills and knowledge of parents but on increasing the self-efficacy of parents (i.e., ensuring that they are able to cope with possible problems rather than transmitting any knowledge) and reducing anxiety.

Introduction. This paper describes results of an integrated multivariate research project, provisionally called “Artifacts of Childhood”, that studied sociological and pedagogical tendencies connected with correlation between the values of the modern adult’s and child’s worlds. The purpose of this study was to look into the specifics of the modern attitude to the childhood, the child’s values-based attitude towards the adult’s world, and to develop an understanding of the value determinants of the child’s social and personal development.

Methods. Research methods were based on Adlerian conceptual model of a deliberate and purposeful changing of parenting styles (A. Adler); the concept of a cultural-historical development (L. S. Vygotsky, A. N. Leontiev) of the child’s personality in the course of mastering the knowledge of previous generations with guidance from an adult (N. F. Radionova); understanding of the child as the subject of child’s activities (T. I. Babayeva, A. G. Gogoberidze and others).

Results. Authors defined essential and structural characteristics of the value‑based attitude of children towards the adult’s world, and established pedagogical determinants that ensure the development of the values-based attitude to the childhood period. Authors received actual data on the interaction between the preschool and the family in the course of shaping the value orientation of adults and modern preschoolers.

This article presents a review of recent international studies on the problem of the creativity in childhood. The appeal to the problem of children’s creativity is methodologically set forth by the cultural-historical theory of L. Vygotsky. Unlike the works of Russian authors considering the problem of creativity in the context of the imagination, activity and creative potential of the individual, international authors focus on more particular research: cross-cultural differences in creativity, the relationship between pedagogical activity and the creativity of children, the effects of fixation on creativity, divergent thinking in the context of creativity etc. The article provides the review results of recent research in the field of developmental psychology where the problem of creativity is discussed in four ways. The first line of research combines resources which provide the theoretical underpinning of creativity and contemplate its structure. The second considers creativity in its cultural context. The third discusses creativity of teachers. The fourth reflects specific empiric studies of creativity in the childhood. These studies are both theoretical and empirical. The finding confirm the relevance of the study of creativity precisely in childhood, since the development and formation of the personality begins at an early age, therefore it is important to take into account the specificity of creativity in relation to and in interaction with other mental processes and personal states in early ontogeny.

This article deals with the issues of developing pedagogical culture in the rural preschool educator in terms of the standardization of preschool education system, highlighting the basic contradictions caused by the standardization of preschool education in rural kindergartens. It explores the particularities of the sociocultural village environment, which is more conservative, traditional and consistent and is distinguished by the integrity of national identity, as well as inner spiritual wealth. The study identifies specific particularities and issues of rural preschools in the Oryol region in the context of the standardization of the preschool education system. These include: not being comprehensive, not having enough educators equipped for children with special needs, lack of technical and financial support, and that the early childhood environment is insufficiently developed. A low level of pedagogical culture in rural preschool educators has also been revealed. Different approaches by modern scientists to the definition of “pedagogical culture” were analyzed, which enabled researchers to identify its structural components. The following structural components of the pedagogical culture of the rural preschool educator were identified: value-based, cognitive, innovative, technological, and personal-creative. The following diagnostic methods are used to examine the level of development of pedagogical culture of rural preschool educators according to the given criteria: A test-questionnaire for evaluating the need for achievements (Orlov Y., 2001); techniques for measuring the empathy of teachers (Yusupov I., 2002); evaluation of the capability for self-development and self-education (Nemova N., 2011); the test “Creativity” (Vishnyakova N.F., 2012). The structural components of pedagogical culture are interpreted in the article as integrative properties of the personality of the rural educator. The author presents the methodology and results of the study on the level of indicators for the components of pedagogical culture in rural preschool educators. The discussion is presented, findings are analyzed, and further prospects of work are outlined.

This article presents the findings of research aimed at exploring the particularities of preschoolers’ drawing using both traditional (paper, pencils, markers etc.) and electronic (tablets) means. Children of preschool age participated in this project. Both participant observation and expert assessment were used for evaluating the drawing process and the products of the preschoolers’ artistic activity through electronic and traditional means. Melik-Pashaev’s “Skyline” method was used for participant observation. For expert assessment a 5-point scale was used to evaluate the children’s works from the perspective of their aesthetic appeal. The children’s behavior during drawing both on paper and on tablets were evaluated along with their pictures. A quality and quantity analysis of 26 electronically and traditionally drawn pictures by preschoolers was conducted. The data allows us to draw the following conclusion: that while children were equally interested in drawing on paper and on the tablets, the duration of drawing, emotional involvement, and engagement in the drawing process was higher when children drew on paper. Children get more pleasure and satisfaction from drawing on paper than from drawing on tablets. Children’s actions during drawing with tablets look more like experimentation than visual art. The experts’ quantitative assessment of factors like the existence of a subject, level of detail, and compositional perfection show better outcomes for pictures on paper than on tablets.

The article concerns art as an educational resource, using of this resource in the pedagogical activity supports education, care and the development of personality. Majority of adults educating preschoolers do not possess the understanding of subject matter of the art in system, its functions, meaning for education and technologies of working with kids through art. That is why the question of their training in this area has been examined. This article proves the importance of the collaborative education for adults working with the preschoolers on the base of art pedagogy, which is the pedagogical movement to solve educational problems with art. The results, gained from a poll, of self-assessment related to the competences of adults in the area of using art in pedagogical activity are presented. For better understanding of the perception of art by adults who are teachers of different subjects or family members, it is suggested to discuss the structure of the artistic image in accordance with a scheme that reflects the structure of the interrelations of its components. The specifics of pedagogical activity with works of art are revealed and the stereotypes and limits of perception of the artistic image, caused by the professional specialization of educating adults are presented. The authors show the possibilities for cooperative solutions of educational tasks in the application of artworks by educators of different specialties. Conclusions about the feasibility of collaborative education of adults, teaching preschoolers through the methods of art pedagogy, and mastering the language of art are drawn.

There is Vygotsky and Vygotsky. The Vygotsky who is still alive in his works and their thoughtful readers, and the Vygotsky «from textbooks». This is what Vygotsky looks like «in textbooks» schematically. According to his conception, a child does not develop on his own; he draws his «powers» for development from the sociocultural environment, which is created for him by an adult. To be more precise, it is created by his hands, his mind and, if he is lucky, by his heart. That is why when doing it, an adult acts not «on his own behalf» but «on his behalf and the behalf of the authority» of culture itself, which formed historically when he merely acts as an intermedium between culture and the child. In collaboration with an adult, a child learns cultural patterns – ways of interacting with human things, models of human behavior, samples of world perception, and criteria for evaluating what is happening in the world, deciphering «languages» – the symbols of the culture... And then he applies these patterns and codes to certain situations. It seems reasonable. But the social factors of child development (which included communications with an adult) were written about long before Vygotsky. Usually they were described as something imposed externally, something directive. From this perspective, development appeared to be a gradual «social enslavement», and they searched for the sources of freedom in the primal game of Mother Nature’s forces, which is natural for such logic. However, this «mother» is in some ways is a more rigid «dictator» than society. In fact, Vygotsky’s ideas are much deeper and more interesting.

The author deals with events held in the school program of compulsory and extracurricular activities, which are aimed at fostering modern school interest in traditional Ukrainian culture. The article examines how the state seeks to revive the customs and rituals of its own country through education in an attempt to instill love for national traditions in the younger generation. An important step towards the revival of traditional Ukrainian culture today is to create an environment permeated with the Ukrainian language and to promote its further spread. Attention is drawn to the viewpoints of the authors of literature textbooks for Ukrainian schools who make a special point of emphasizing the importance of the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian lands in the historical context, in the making of the first forms of national statehood. The article highlights a significant number of additional activities designed to draw attention to cultural heritage of Ukrain.

National and cultural aspects of personality formation are a very difficult and lengthy process. Its basis is undoubtedly laid down in the family which initiates a child’s socialization, education, the molding of his personality, including primary ethnization factors. With new independent states emerging on the territory of the former Soviet Union and new diasporas subsequently springing up, the process of ethnic and cultural identity formation has, too, acquired new aspects. The authors point out that of paramount importance for the characterization of the new diasporas is the fact that their members identified themselves not so much with their maternal ethnic group, as with their mainland, and, consequently, with the value orientations the state demonstrated. The survey and the present study show how national culture is preserved and restored through upbringing and family traditions in Belarussians living in 21st century Moscow. It also explains what determines the Belarussian essence for Belarussians in the Diaspora and the way the latter manifests itself in a modern megalopolis.

It explains the need for a new approach – “analytical and corrective interaction” (ACI) – in the methodological guidance of environmental education in a preschool center aiming at care-givers’ professional and personal self-development, enhancing their environmental culture and its formation of the latter in children. It discloses the essence, content and procedural algorithm of analytical and corrective interaction, the specificity and sequence of its implementation stages. The article discusses the results of testing the new approach to methodical guidance, specific features of ACI implementation in practice, the content of a methodologist’s activity, the nature of his management, which determines the efficiency of interaction, manifestations of teachers in the process of experimentation. It shows this unique methodology of environmental education as a relatively new trend in preschool pedagogy which forms the basis of a system of working with children and which should be communicated to kindergarten teachers in the process of analytical and corrective interaction. The results of the study make it possible to determine the effectiveness of ACI research and experimental testing. The article is addressed to environmentalists, methodologists of preschool educational institutions, students and teachers at teacher training institutions and researchers.

The article provides an overview of international research relating to the study of interaction between child and rule in a normative situation. The reason why the analysis of the articles brings up the issue of child and rule interaction stems from L.Vygotsky’s theory of cultural determination and provisions of N.Veraksa’s theory of culture as a system of normative situations. In contrast to Russian authors who reflect the psychology of a child’s interaction with culture, their foreign counterparts focus on more specific points, consequently, research in developmental psychology has more to do with phenomenology than theory or conception. Among the sources of the articles cited are works recently written by scholars in the field of child psychology and dedicated to different aspects of a child’s learning the rules of the cultural context of its development. Research into the issue of interaction between the child and the rule is empirical in nature and involves addressing specific situations which contain certain cultural norms. The article analyzes the studies related to the safety of children, the role of imitation in learning the rules, mass media influence on the nature of rules to be learned, formation of pro-environmental behavior through a system of specific rules and everyday behaviors which the researchers call contextually normal, the interrelation between a child’s knowledge of rules and relevant discursive strategies in children’s struggle for power.

The article is devoted to a study conducted in preschool education №2325 called «Academy of Childhood” in Moscow involving participants from the group for 6-7 year old children (N=50.). The aim of the study was to identify the degree of absorption of a preschool child in the culture of animation, the quality of its comprehension as a factor in the development of its capacity for symbolic mediation. The author notes that each subject was given a set of specially selected diagnostic tests to determine his or her level of mental development and certain neuropsychiatric features. The methods were consistent with the subjects’ age specifics and the goals, objectives and hypothesis of the study. In her study, the author used her own technique, developed in accordance with standard provisions for psychometric methods. The study identified four levels of representation of the animated film in children’s minds, and 3 levels of preschool children’s abilities to symbolic mediation. When processing the results obtained the following trend was observed: the higher the degree of a child’s quantitative exposure to cartoon culture – the lower is its propensity for qualitative analysis and comprehension of cartoons. It is noted that the number of cartoons seen is a factor that negatively affects the development level of the child’s capacity for symbolic mediation. Recommendations are given on proper selection of animated films before showing them to a child.

India is characterised by immense plurality, whether it is in ecology, economy, religion, language, history, culture or cuisine. As a single nation which harbours so much diversity, working towards uniform principles becomes a serious challenge, whether in the attainment of national goals or the implementation of educational objectives. Regarding childhood, there is a constant dialogue between cultural practices on the one hand, and national objectives of children’s development on the other. Additional turbulence is caused by the distant images from affluent countries. Socialisation practices among contemporary Indian families continue to have enduring links with ancient traditions. Simultaneously, families are increasingly enthusiastic about children’s education; and keeping pace with modernity and technological advancement is an important priority. However, the global ideal of childhood as visualised by Euro-American norms, guided by quantitative homogenisation, has been an important obstacle for a reasonable understanding of Indian childhood and family life. This presentation focuses on the characteristic properties of family life and childhood in India that facilitate the co-existence of complex and even conflicting ways of bringing-up children. The analysis will be supported by examples from research with Indian families to describe the adaptive strategies that adults employ in the socialisation for competence of children towards a high tolerance of ambiguity and ambivalence.
