Justification of the study. The relevance of the study is justified by the sensitivity of children 5-6 years old to develop an understanding of emotions. Therefore, many programs have been developed for the formation of voluntary control emotions based on the understanding of emotions. However, such programs use multidirectional means of developing an understanding of emotions. This suggests the incompleteness of using the potential of the child's understanding of emotions for the formation of voluntary control emotions in these programs.

The aim of the study. The aim is a theoretical analysis of programs that develop a child's understanding of emotions.

Methods. The method was a comparative analysis. The subject of the analysis was the objectives and content of the programs. The analysis of the objectives was carried out with respect to their functions for the formation of voluntary control emotions. The analysis of the content was carried out from the perspective of the development of the motivational component and from the perspective of the development of voluntary behavior.

Sample. Emotion understanding training programs were selected for the study. These programs are presented in peer-reviewed publications or comply with the Federal State Educational Standard. In total, 12 programs were analyzed of which 6 were partial and 6 were complex.

Results. The objectives, means, and motivational components of the analyzed programs reflect the value orientations of the program. There are value orientations aimed at developing the child's understanding of his own emotions or at developing an understanding of the emotions of others. Both presented value orientations are necessary for the formation of voluntary control emotions. The topic of understanding emotions has a wide potential for the formation of a child’s desire for voluntary control emotions through the development of non-situational personal communication. The main tools of mastering voluntary control emotions are behavioral strategies and rules of behavior.  Behavioral strategies as a means of the formation of voluntary emotion control are characterized by utilitarianism. The rules of behavior are characterized by a focus on awareness of the holistic situation. Recommendations for the formation of voluntary control emotions by developing an understanding of emotions were presented.

We explored the factors associated with the stress signs among children during the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan. Although children showed increased stress signs, they also showed increased development of good behavioral traits during this period. Parenting styles were significantly correlated with the psychological and physical stresses experienced by children. While a punitive parenting style had significant correlations with increased psychological and physical stress, a warm and permissive parenting style had positive correlations with increased good behavioral traits and behaviors of children even during the pandemic. Social support enhanced mothers’ self-esteem and positive perceptions among children. These findings provide us with important clues to support families, during the era of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The article discusses the problem of reduced play activity of a modern preschool. An overview of the research on the importance of the play as a factor in the development of the child in the preschool period of childhood is presented. The concept of «play dysontogenesis» is introduced, which means violated, not corresponding to psychological laws development of the play in preschool age due to a number of socio-cultural and educational factors. The reasons for the occurrence of play deprivation are revealed, which have a negative impact on the normal development of the child and the formation of the main neoplasms of preschool childhood. It has been shown that the simplification of the children’s play leads to mental and personal infantilism, a decrease in the ability to plan one’s own actions, a delay in the formation of significant mental functions and personality aspects, and a socio-normative disorientation of a growing person. Based on the data of individual authors and the materials of earlier studies, we suggest a high risk of the formation of various psychological dependencies and deviations, the emergence of play addiction and other socio-behavioral deviations as a result of a lack of play in preschool age. The results of familiarization with training curricula for preschool educational institutions are discussed, which indicate the complete absence in many programs of universities of theoretical disciplines, practical courses and workshops on psychology and pedagogy of children’s play, including applied aspects of teaching future educators how to organize and accompany preschool play. The conditions for the rehabilitation of the play as a unique social, psychological, cultural and age phenomenon, proposed by E.O. Smirnova as fundamental measures in modern preschool education, are outlined.

Background. In the modern world, the threat of terrorist attacks is increasing. An important role for ensuring the safety of children belongs to the education system, in particular preschool educational organizations.

The purpose of the study. The aim is to analyze the effectiveness of forming ideas about safe behavior in terrorist emergencies in children of older preschool age, classes with whom were conducted in preschool educational organizations according to the author’s partial program “Safe I in a Safe World “. A program of social and pedagogical orientation, which aims to form ideas about safe behavior in children of older preschool age in the event of a threat and occurrence of terrorist emergencies. The rules of conduct laid down in the program are consistent with the recommendations of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation.

Description of the research progress. For the formative experiment we randomly selected children: the control group included 90 children of older preschool age, and the experimental group included 98 children who studied according to the program for one school year.

Research results. Effectiveness of the program was assessed by three components: cognitive, behavioral, and motivational. The cognitive component is knowledge of the signs of terrorist emergencies and the rules of behavior. The behavioral component with emotional and volitional reinforcement is the readiness to plan and perform a series of required actions in an imaginary situation. The motivational component includes recognition of the value of life and health and the ability to substantiate a behavior strategy (in accordance with the principles of a positive attitude to safety and following the rules of behavior). It was revealed that classes within the framework of the program made it possible to reliably effectively form ideas about safe behavior in terrorist emergencies in older preschool children. Particularly important outcomes were child behavior strategies that allow children to act safely in an atypical situation.

Relevance (context) of the article. Various media products are becoming an integral part of modern childhood, transmitting cultural patterns, moral norms, values and knowledge to the child. A cartoon, as a popular form of art, can have a high developmental potential for children and form their prosocial behavior. Considering how much a modern child watches various media products, it is extremely important to understand how and under what conditions a cartoon can become a means of child development.

The aim of the study. Consideration of the mechanisms of influence of the cartoon on the child, as well as conditions for enhancing the developmental potential of media products. In accordance with the aim, the tasks were set to develop a form of work with children “Children’s Cinema Evening “, as well as to test its effectiveness with the help of a formative experiment.

Description of the research progress. Based on the analysis of research in the field of media influence on a child, we have described the mechanisms of this influence, and also developed principles that allow us to enhance the developing potential of a cartoon. They consist in: matching the content to the age characteristics of the child, demonstrating prosocial behavior by characters on the screen, active participation of an adult in viewing, and consolidating the experience gained in practice through games and exercises. Based on these scientific data, we have developed the aims, objectives, structure and organization of the “Children’s Cinema Evening “, in which the cartoon acts as a means of children’s development. The effectiveness of the Cinema Evening for the formation of prosocial behavior was confirmed by a formative experiment, which was conducted on the basis of the private kindergarten “Interesting Kindergarten” in two stages. The study involved 39 children aged 5-6 years. The experimental group included 20 children aged 5-6 who attended a Children’s Cinema Evening 2 times a month in small groups for six months in the 2019/2020 academic year. The control group included 19 children aged 5-6 years.

Research methods used: “Map of observations on the manifestations of communicative abilities in preschool children” (Shchetinina A.M.), “Unfinished Stories”, “Pictures” (E.O. Smirnova, V.M. Kholmogorova).

Research results. The results of the formative experiment showed that the active participation of an adult in watching a cartoon by children on the basis of the principles we have outlined within the framework of the Children’s Cinema Evening forms prosocial behavior in senior preschool children (development of empathy and goodwill, formation of prosocial attitudes and reduction of aggression in a conflict situation).

Conclusions. “Children’s Cinema Evening” as a modern form of work with children using media technologies, allows you to effectively use the developing potential of a cartoon for the formation of prosocial behavior in senior preschoolers.

The ambiguous results of existing intervention programmes show the need for new ways in research on aggression among children. The present study focuses on the children’s own perspective on their aggressive behaviour. Based on a constructivist approach, the inner logic of narratives about peer conflicts of 64 children in Dutch special education was analysed. Contrary to the much used dichotomy of reactive and proactive aggression, we found a more differentiated picture. Children use aggression: to get understanding for their situation; to escape from the conflict situation; because of inner conflicts; to get revenge; and for the fun of bullying. The study makes clear that, from the perspective of the children, aggressive behaviour is closely related to the peer culture at school. Moreover, some children need individual treatment and supports, because of specific concerns related to selfregulation that make them behave aggressively.

The article shows the relevance of the development of arbitrary behavior in preschool children. According to the hypothesis of the investigation, methods of emotional-motor psychotechnics can optimize the development of arbitrary behavior in children 5–6 years. At the same time, emotional-motor psychotechnics are considered as a direction of psychological and pedagogical assistance in overcoming the child’s problems by solving practical tasks on the material of figurative-motor exercises with rich emotional content. The methods and results of the investigation are described. The basic principles of work with children by methods of emotional-motor psychotechnics are compared with traditional methods of development of arbitrary behavior in preschool children by means of Board games with rules. 75 children aged 5–6 years took part in the investigation. Based on the comparison of primary and control diagnostic data in the three groups of children is shown a growth in arbitrariness in the experimental group, where lessons were conducted in emotional-motor psychotechnics, in contrast on another experimental group , where lessons with traditional methods were less effective, and control group, where the primary data remained almost unchanged.

This article presents a review of recent international studies on the problem of the creativity in childhood. The appeal to the problem of children’s creativity is methodologically set forth by the cultural-historical theory of L. Vygotsky. Unlike the works of Russian authors considering the problem of creativity in the context of the imagination, activity and creative potential of the individual, international authors focus on more particular research: cross-cultural differences in creativity, the relationship between pedagogical activity and the creativity of children, the effects of fixation on creativity, divergent thinking in the context of creativity etc. The article provides the review results of recent research in the field of developmental psychology where the problem of creativity is discussed in four ways. The first line of research combines resources which provide the theoretical underpinning of creativity and contemplate its structure. The second considers creativity in its cultural context. The third discusses creativity of teachers. The fourth reflects specific empiric studies of creativity in the childhood. These studies are both theoretical and empirical. The finding confirm the relevance of the study of creativity precisely in childhood, since the development and formation of the personality begins at an early age, therefore it is important to take into account the specificity of creativity in relation to and in interaction with other mental processes and personal states in early ontogeny.

The article deals with issues related to the characteristics of competitive situations in general, and those involving games, in particular, that may have a positive and a negative effect on child development depending on their age characteristics and individual characteristics. Article examines the place of competitive games in the lives of younger schoolchildren compared to those of preschoolers and their relationship with learning, the dominant activity of this age. Based on the proposed diagnostic methodology different constructive and non-constructive types of competitive behavior in competitive game situations involving older preschoolers and primary school children are described. Based on the selection of ineffective behaviors authors pose the question about the criteria determining children’s readiness for competitive situations in the preschool and early school ages.

The article examines meaning of the early periods of child’s life for the development of imagination, original creative ideas, freedom of expression in a decent personal conduct. From the position of L.S. Vygotsky childhood importance in the occurrence of the imagination and the beginning of formation of creative abilities through training and education of the child is analyzed. The role of aesthetic education for the personality development is shown to be not less valuable than the work and training activities of children. The author refers to the 25 years of experience gained in the establishment of additional education “The Golden Cockerel”, and notes that talented teachers are actively developing children’s imagination in the process of aesthetic education, based on the different types and practices of creative activity, games, modeling forms of culture presented in the traditional Russian folklore. It is also noted that the successful solution of problems of the aesthetic development of preschool children with difficulties in behavior and in communication with peers was possible on the basis of creative cooperation between Center of Aesthetic Education of Children “The Golden Cockerel” with the Faculty of Psychology of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The article describes processes that take place in the teachers’ collective – from their onset to the reached agreements. Because the educational environment brings people in groups, there are processes that need to be understood like group dynamics, human emotions and behavior. Education implies interaction between teachers, children, parents and co-workers. Proper goal setting and arrangement of working time allows the teacher to become a better partner in the collective work. The want for professional and personal development makes teachers to update their knowledge, develop on their strengths and work on their weaknesses. Teachers also develop their professional confidence, which raises their resistance to stress in the profession. It is shown that the ability to solve problems and eliminate conflicts in their work, significantly strengthens the authority of the teacher.
