Relevance of the article. Preschoolers are active users of modern digital devices, and therefore their media activity is increasingly becoming the subject of close attention. Scientists disagree on whether gadgets positively or negatively effect on the development of a child’s psyche, and what types of media activity have a positive effect on the success of preschoolers.

The aim of the study: to identify differences in the level of development of mental abilities of senior preschoolers in two groups: those using digital devices mainly for watching cartoons and videos, and those using digital devices mainly for video games and applications.

Description of the research progress. The study involved 267 senior preschool children and their parents. Parents filled out a questionnaire (Bortsova, Nekrasov, 2020) aimed at studying the child’s predominant way of using digital devices and screen time indicators. Children aged 5–7 years were divided into two groups: those who predominantly watch videos and cartoons (passive screen time), and those who prefer video games and applications (active screen time). The level of development of children’s mental abilities was studied using a battery of techniques created under the guidance of L.A. Venger. According to the level of imagination development, the children were divided into three groups based on the results of the “Complete the Drawing” technique (Dyachenko, 2007). The results of the development of intellectual and creative abilities of two groups of children were compared using the Student’s t-test and one-factor analysis of variance.

Research results. Children using digital devices primarily for video games and applications had a higher level of mental development compared to the group of children using digital devices primarily for watching cartoons and videos. Children with low levels of nonverbal imagination spent more time in front of digital device screens than children with medium and high levels.

Conclusions. Modern computer games and applications have the potential to develop the intellectual abilities of older preschoolers. At the same time, interaction with digital devices negatively affects the development of imagination.

Relevance of the article. The use of digital educational technologies in preschool education is one of the urgent problems of our time. Its relevance is determined by a number of factors: the need of modern society for the maximum approximation of educational organizations, including preschool ones, to modern digital technologies, the lack of clearly developed methods for the use of new information technologies in preschool institutions; lack of equipment for the successful education of children in a digital educational environment. The article discusses the possibilities of using the digital educational environment in the educational process and its impact on the formation of the intellectual abilities of children of senior preschool age.

The aim of the study is to develop, experimentally test and describe the pedagogical conditions for the development of intellectual abilities of children of senior preschool age in the process of using the digital educational environment in preschool.

Research progress. The study was conducted on the basis of a kindergarten in Ulyanovsk: 80 children of 5–6 years of age participated in the experiment. In the process of diagnostics, the following methods were used: “Color and shape differentiation” (selectively, the learning ability test of G. Witzlak was used), “Determining the degree of formation of logical thinking actions” (N.B. Venger), “Colored numbers” (Kuizener sticks), “Computing machines” and “Word transformation” (the game of A.A. Stolyar was used), the method of Beloshistaya A.V. The study consisted in determining the pedagogical conditions for the intellectual development of older preschoolers in the process of using the digital educational environment, developing and implementing a system aimed at teaching children the basics of computer literacy, forming a stable interest and positive motivation among preschoolers to master digital learning tools.

Research results. The effectiveness of work on the development of the intellectual abilities of children aged 5–6 years in the process of using the digital educational environment was revealed. After carrying out the formative work, a high level of intellectual development was revealed in 12 children (30%) of the experimental group, an average level was observed in 21 children (52.5%) of the experimental group, and a low level was shown by 7 children (17.5%) of the experimental group.

Conclusions. The use of the digital educational environment significantly affects the active knowledge of the world by the child, his outlook, curiosity, motives for educational activities. It has been proven that the process of developing the intellectual abilities of older preschool children will be more effective if digital educational technologies are actively used, and effective interaction between the educational institution and the family is ensured.

The relevance of the topic of the article. Dialectical thinking can act as a means of solving communicative and personal tasks by the subject. A dialectical strategy for solving such problems allows the subject to identify all the variety of characteristics, including mutually exclusive ones, and transform them. This contributes to a more tolerant attitude of the subject towards people around him and towards himself and, consequently, successful socialization.

Research methods. The article presents an analysis of studies carried out within the framework of the structural-dialectical approach on the issues of personality development and socialization of a preschool child. In accordance with the hypothesis, the directions of research are determined.

The first direction is the study of dialectical structures in arbitrary self-regulation and psychological and pedagogical conditions that contribute to the formation of a dialectical strategy of self-regulation in preschool children.

The second direction is the study of dialectical structures in the Self-concept and the possibility of forming in preschool children dialectical mechanisms of transformation of contradictions arising in the process of self-knowledge.

The third direction is the study of dialectical structures in social perception and the conditions for the formation of dialectical social intelligence in preschool children.

Conclusion. The study of dialectical structures in the development of the personality and socialization of the child will expand the possibilities of applying the structural-dialectical approach in practical psychology. It is important to develop dialectical thinking in children already in preschool age. The formation of a dialectical attitude towards oneself, people and events can contribute to the harmonization of relations with the outside world and oneself. This understanding opens up prospects for the development of methods of psychological correction of interpersonal relationships and personal development based on the formation of dialectical thinking in children, as well as the development of theory and practice of dialectical counseling and dialectical psychotherapy.

The relevance of the topic of the article. For the wide educational practice of kindergartens, the question of the psychological mechanisms of creative thinking is fundamental, since their formation begins precisely at the age of three to five years. If during this period of a person’s life the educational process is structured in such a way that the child’s creative thinking is not supported or even suppressed, then it will be very difficult, and sometimes impossible, to compensate for gaps in cognitive development at later life stages. It should be emphasized that, as a rule, teachers do not support creative thinking or even act to the detriment of it precisely because of a lack of understanding of the key principles of its development, which, in particular, are related to ensuring a balance of activities that actualize formal-logical, dialectical and symbolic structures of thinking.

The aim of the study. The work is aimed at identifying the features of the structure of cognitive abilities that make up the complex mechanism of creative thinking, which is one of the basic problems of psychology of cognitive development today. The question is posed of how dialectical thinking, formal logic and the ability to symbolize are related in preschool age. The assumption is verified that the use of Piaget’s tools, focused on fixing reversibility relations and the formation of the phenomenon of preservation, will reveal new aspects of the relationship between formal-logical and dialectical thought structures.

Description of the research progress. 272 preschoolers from Moscow and other regions of the Russian Federation were individually diagnosed. For data processing, methods of correlation analysis and verification of the independence of parameters according to the Pearson’s chi-squared criterion were applied.

Research results. The results of the study showed that the connection between the three lines of cognitive development of preschoolers is traced more consistently in relation to formal and dialectical thinking. With regard to symbolization, the connections are less consistent. The article concludes that normative, transformative and symbolic abilities are relatively independent lines in the cognitive development of preschoolers.

Conclusion. The data obtained indicate the complexity and heterogeneity of the mechanism of creative thinking and the heterogeneous structure of relationships between formal-logical and dialectical structures, as well as the ability to symbolize. Therefore, the program for the development of creative thinking for preschoolers should have a balanced character: by influencing one type of structures, we cannot expect that the rest will also develop as a result of this influence. To actualize the complex mechanism of a child’s creative thinking in the pedagogical terms, it is necessary to design problem situations together with the children, the resolution of which requires both the use of formal and dialectical logic and the ability to invent symbols, images, metaphors.

Relevance (context) of the topic of the article. Speech development is a key factor in the academic success of students. Reading and writing as types of speech activity are metalinguistic competencies that provide students of all levels of education with the assimilation of the content of academic disciplines, communication and influencing further socialization. Therefore, the issues of timely mass diagnostics of speech development disorders in modern children are becoming more relevant. The article examines the domestic and world experience in the diagnosis of speech disorders, including the use of screenings for assessing the risks of speech and psychological development; the changes in the system of dispensary speech therapy observation of children that have occurred in Russia over the past 10 years are analyzed, models of psychological and pedagogical support of children with speech disorders are described.

The aim of the article is to describe a model of a standardized two-stage speech screening procedure; to present the content of the first stage, the algorithm for its implementation and the analysis of the results of the primary approbation of the questionnaire for assessing speech development in 7-year-old children.

Description of the research progress. The study was conducted in 15 educational organizations in Moscow in 2020-2021. Based on modern ideas about the child’s speech development, a questionnaire was developed to assess speech development and tested in preschool groups with 686 children aged 7 years-7 years and 3 months. The main research methods are observation, questionnaire, methods of mathematical statistics.

The results of the study. A questionnaire for assessing the speech development of a 7-year-old child is presented, which allows identifying students who need logoscreening (stage 2) and differentiated help from a speech therapist teacher. Statistical data on speech disorders in this age group were obtained.

Conclusion. It is concluded that it is important to conduct two-stage speech screening in critical periods of development, and an algorithm for its testing is proposed. The advantages of the screening system for the selection of children in need of psychological and pedagogical support for the executive authorities in the field of education, educational organizations and the child are indicated.

The relevance of the topic of the article. In recent years, more and more preschool educational organizations) have become inclusive. In this regard, it becomes necessary to identify criteria for assessing the quality of providing special conditions to preschoolers with disabilities.

The aim of the study. This article examines the problem of criteria-based assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation of inclusive education in preschool education. The analysis of studies related to both general issues of inclusion and the assessment of its quality, as well as an analysis of the activities of effectively operating educational complexes in the city of Moscow, is carried out.

The results of the study was the identified system of criteria that helps to determine, especially at the initial stage of implementing inclusive practices in preschool education, the degree of their compliance with the regulatory legal framework of the Russian Federation. This system of criteria includes: 1) the creation and implementation of a specific mechanism for providing special educational conditions to children with disabilities; 2) the sufficiency of the local regulatory framework governing the implementation of inclusive education in a particular institution; 3) the availability of a document that allows for the individualization of the process of creating special conditions and an integrated approach to overcoming the existing developmental deficits of a preschooler; 4) transparency and accessibility of information about the implementation of inclusive practices in kindergarten for all participants in educational relations; 5) the presence in the preschool educational organization of the structures necessary for the deployment of inclusive practices: the psychological and pedagogical support service and the psychological and pedagogical council; 6) the availability of personnel resources necessary for the implementation of special conditions and the level of their competence; 7) a developing subject-spatial environment, organized taking into account the special needs and capabilities of pupils with disabilities, both in the group and in the kindergarten as a whole.

Conclusion. As a result of the study, criteria are proposed that complement the existing system of the effectiveness of the implementation of inclusive education assessment and will be especially useful for the management teams of preschool educational institutions.

Relevance (context) of the article. The analysis of the sources shows the effect of the P. Ya. Galperin’s theory of step-by-step development of intellectual activity. Relevance of the study is evident both at the level of fundamental general psychological mechanisms of intellectual processes, and at the level of educational technology development. P. Ya. Galperin’s theory has found its usage in developing methods for correctional and educational work in teaching children with disabilities.

The purpose of this paper is to show relevance of P. Ya. Galperin’s theory implementation, when developing methods in correctional education to form intellectual activity in preschoolers with intellectual disabilities.

Description of the research. The thesis reveals gradual development of intellectual activity in preschoolers with intellectual disabilities. There is an author’s method of forming intellectual activity in preschool children with intellectual disabilities. This method is presented on the example of actions of assigning the subject to the standard of form and direct quantitative counting. It is used in preparing children for school. This study is implemented in the educational field Intellectual Development. It is possible to use this method in the future to ensure preschool education of children with intellectual disabilities.

Findings. The research studied formation of a perceptive ability to match a particular object’s properties with the set standards of form and the ability to make direct quantitative calculations when using the method based on P. Ya. Galperin’s theory. The study revealed that, though the tasks at each stage of learning were getting more and more complicated, the intellectual activity acquirement was progressing. This is shown through preschoolers with intellectual impairments being more independent from an adult’s help and being able to shift to a more ‘reduced’ action according to P. Ya. Galperin. The distinguished gradual development of intellectual activity (first shifting from conceiving the task to acquiring the intellectual action in the tangible and physical way, second shifting to handling the observed objects without motor actions involved, finally shifting to prospective planning of the action) has proven to be effective when assisting a child in forming various intellectual actions, such as objective figure modeling, objects size-ranking, comparison, qualitative division, etc.

Conclusion. The method of forming intellectual skills in preschoolers with intellectual disabilities, built on the principle of gradual development of intellectual activity can be widely used in correctional, developmental and educational work. This study is possible to go beyond the actual intellectual development and be used in other educational areas of preschool education of this group of children.

Relevance (context) of the subject of the article. The problem of creative abilities is becoming increasingly important in two contexts at once – both in the context of human self-realization, and in the context of the development of practices and production. A special place is occupied by the development of creative abilities in preschool age: even in the works of Lev Vygotsky, it was said about the importance of considering the germs of creativity in the game and fantasy of children. Today, within the framework of the cultural-historical approach, there are a number of scientific schools that study the possibilities of diagnosing and developing children’s creativity.

The aim of the study is to analyze the approaches to the study of children’s creativity in cultural-historical psychology in order to understand what answers to the questions posed by Lev Vygotsky, were discovered over the past decades, and what remained unanswered. It is also important to see how the questions themselves were transformed, since the raising of a new question is a sign of the development of science. The correlation of existing approaches is important for the development of new research programs in the logic of cultural-historical psychology.

Description of the research. The article analyzes various approaches to the research and development of creative abilities: V.V. Davydov and V.T. Kudryavtsev, D.B. Bogoyavlenskaya, N.E. Veraksa and O.M. Dyachenko, V.N. Druzhinin, L.F. Obukhova. The general and specific characteristics of the interpretation of children’s creativity in different approaches of the cultural and historical tradition are highlighted. The conducted research correlates with the questions about the creative nature of the human psyche and about children’s creativity, posed by L.S.Vygotsky.

Research results. The article concludes that despite all the differences in the approaches that have appeared in the logic of the cultural-historical tradition, they are united by the idea of the resourcefulness of preschool childhood and the importance of educational efforts aimed at maintaining the “sprouts of creativity”. In Russian studies, the question is raised about the means of creative abilities that allow us transforming the present situation (dialectical structures and symbols), as well as about the affective-volitional component of the creative process – the ability to detect a task. All this distinguishes the concepts that were born within the framework of the cultural-historical approach from the theory of creativity by J. Guilford and E. Torrance. At the same time, it is indicated that children’s activities (playing, storytelling, experimentation, etc.) are still rarely considered in research as a context for the manifestation of creative abilities.

Conclusion. The article concludes that it is important to conduct new research, both ascertaining and longitudinal, which will allow us to take the next steps in understanding how the means of developing creative abilities are mastered in children’s activities and how this affects the formation of creative abilities in subsequent ages.

The authors show the need to design programs for the development of memorization techniques for older preschool age based on various types of educational activities of the kindergarten. The methodological base of the research based on the theory of systemogenesis of the abilities of V.D. Shadrikov. The study involved 30 children aged 5-6 years of kindergarten in Moscow. The empirical study consisted of 3 stages: a formative experiment aimed at forming the “grouping” memorization technique in preschool children aged 5-7 years based on the material of kindergarten educational disciplines; two diagnostic sections performed before and after the formative experiment aimed at diagnosing the productivity of various types of children’s memory. We studied mechanical, figurative, and mediated memory, as well as the formation of various methods of memorizing techniques preschool children aged 5-7 years. The Student’s t-test was used to check the statistical reliability of the study results. The program for the development of the “grouping” memorization technique is designed for 15 lessons, 25 minutes each, with a frequency of 4 lessons per week. The program is based on the material of such types of kindergarten educational activities as “The World Around us”, “Mathematics”, “Speech Development”. As a result of the formative experiment, the productivity of figurative, mediated memory became higher (ρ ≤ 0.01). The “grouping” memorization technique was formed in 53% of children aged 5–6 years.

The article discusses the relevance of the problem of children’s speech readiness for schooling, including the development of language and communication abilities of preschool children. It is shown that the transition from kindergarten to school is associated with a change in the social status of a child who becomes a pupil. This is preceded by a huge preparatory work that develops general and special preparation for learning at school, which should result in readiness for school, including speech. The authors consider the cognitive aspect of preschool children’s speech readiness for school. It is shown that the study of the correlation between thought, speech and language in the formation of a preschool child’s personality provides opportunities to identify patterns of development of intellectual, communicative, speech and language abilities in preschool childhood. Language (linguistic) competence in relation to preschoolers is considered as an elementary awareness of the phenomena and facts of language and speech, the formation of the ability to use words, their forms and syntactic structures in accordance with the norms of the literary language, to use synonymic and antonymic resources of the native language. The tasks of the development of linguistic and communicative abilities are presented. The development of all aspects of speech, knowledge of the rules and norms of speech etiquette, and their use, depending on the situation, play an important role in educating the culture of speech communication among preschoolers. The improvement of communicative competence is impossible without learning the basics of speech culture, the absence of which can cause a misconception about the essence of the statement. The prospects of research on the formation of speech readiness for school education are outlined. The conclusions summarize the main points of the article.

Contradictionary results of studies on the development of self-regulation in different activities in children are identified. The structure of self-regulation includes the ability to goal-setting, modeling conditions of activities, programming actions and self-control. The specificity of the manifestation of these abilities in different types of activity and features in preschool children is shown.

The method includes four problem situations. The first part is aimed at diagnosing the ability to self-regulate cognitive activity (metacognitive abilities). The second part is aimed at diagnosing the ability to self-regulate play activity (metaplay abilities).

Situations 1 and 3 suggest a hypothetical inclusion of the child in cognitive and play activities. The child must identify the goal and objectives, the conditions for the implementation of the activity and the program of action. Situations 2 and 4 are aimed at diagnosing self-control in cognitive and play activities. These situations imply a child’s assessment of «completing the assignment by other children».

Testing results indicate a relatively uniform distribution of the examined children according to the level of development of self-regulation abilities in different types of activities. Close and moderate correlation between the indicators of the abilities in cognitive and play activities was found. However, only 8% of the examined children showed a harmonious profile of metacognitive and meta-play abilities.

Self-regulation in preschool children has its own specifics in different types of activities. To diagnose metacognitive and metaplay abilities, it is necessary to use different diagnostic tasks. The results of testing the method indicate that it can be used in scientific research and for the diagnosis of mental development of preschool children.

The article gives an overview of improving the methodology for developing elementary mathematical representations in preschool pedagogy and in preschool special education concerning the formation of mass perception. The authors describe the history methodology development in preschool education including the task for forming such measuring skills in children as an orientation in the mass of objects. Theoretical review made it possible to elucidate the under-development of the methodology for forming elementary mathematical representations in preschool children with intellectual disabilities. The article reveals the content of the methodology for corrective and pedagogical work on the formation of a mathematical function like understanding the mass of objects in preschool children with intellectual disabilities (mental retardation). It is based on the theory of the stage-by-stage formation of mental actions by P. Ya. Galperin. The methodology presupposes eight stages, each of which uses its own set of methods and techniques of training and a set of illustrative and handout material. The authors offer fragments of tasks on the formation of this understanding in preschool children with intellectual disabilities in the mass of objects at each stage of education. The methodology is implemented within the framework of the educational field “Cognitive Development” in classes on the formation of elementary mathematical representations. This article presents the experience of working with children with disabilities to correct issues in the communicative sphere. The aim of the study is to validate music therapy technologies used to improve the adaptive abilities of children with autism spectrum disorders and the delay of speech development. The essence of the method is in the orchestrating of a productive interaction for the child and overcoming communicative limitations through the inclusion of a musical instrument – the synthesizer. The article offers a tested sequence of steps for corrective measures which help to broaden the spectrum of communicative possibilities for the child. The main factors that determined the direction of the correctional and developmental work were the specific psychological and pedagogical features of the development of the child with these disorders as well as the educational and correctional potential of a musical instrument used in work with such group of children. During the ascertaining stage of the research, the assessment of the children’s functional abilities was conducted using the observation method, employing functional behavioral scales (Kazmin, 2015). This approach allowed similar characteristics among the studied groups of children to be identified. The sequence and content of the exercises during the training part of the experiment was aimed at a qualitative change in the indicators of the children’s level of maturity in their communication skills. A specific meaning and behavioral effect were appointed to a certain sound complex; labeling of the lessons’ stages was also used. As a result, along with qualitative changes in indicators that were common for both groups, some specific features of each of them were noted, appearing both in the working process with children and in a control group . The results of this work confirmed the effectiveness of a music therapy approach and, in particular, the use of the electronic keyboard synthesizer in correctional work on communication initiative development in children with disabilities. The study’s results were confirmed by the dynamics of these children’s functional development.

Developing children’s communication abilities is an important challenge pre-school education is facing with. It has been the subject of numerous studies, with an emphasis on the role that games play in developing communication. However, preschool teachers underestimate the importance of dramatization games in the development of a child’s communication skills and personality. The results of our experimental studies showed that dramatization games create favorable conditions for developing children’s socio-perceptive, emotional and interactive aspect of communication. It was found that communicative abilities in dramatization games should be formed step by step: from the ability to see a situation of interaction and to understand a partner’s state to master ways to express one’s attitude to him or her, and, finally, to the ability to cooperate. Development of communication skills is also fostered by using stories that deal with issues of interpersonal interactions, and by employing active learning methods.

The article presents diagnostic and corrective methods designed for study and correction of sensory-perceptual activity of preschool children with intellectual disabilities. Sensory-perceptual activity is considered as a basis for further cognitive development of children in this group. The diagnostic method of its study involves differential criteria for fulfilling experimental tasks by three groups of preschool children – normally developing children, children with developmental delay and children with mental retardation. The corrective method aimed at forming such sensory-perceptual processes, as the ability to relate the properties of subjects to predetermined reference forms and the ability to model planar shapes of subjects is based on the gradual formation of mental actions theory developed by P.Y. Galperin. Both the diagnostic and corrective methods are based on L.A. Venger’s approach to the study of sensory-perceptive activity of preschool children.

The article is devoted to a study conducted in preschool education №2325 called «Academy of Childhood” in Moscow involving participants from the group for 6-7 year old children (N=50.). The aim of the study was to identify the degree of absorption of a preschool child in the culture of animation, the quality of its comprehension as a factor in the development of its capacity for symbolic mediation. The author notes that each subject was given a set of specially selected diagnostic tests to determine his or her level of mental development and certain neuropsychiatric features. The methods were consistent with the subjects’ age specifics and the goals, objectives and hypothesis of the study. In her study, the author used her own technique, developed in accordance with standard provisions for psychometric methods. The study identified four levels of representation of the animated film in children’s minds, and 3 levels of preschool children’s abilities to symbolic mediation. When processing the results obtained the following trend was observed: the higher the degree of a child’s quantitative exposure to cartoon culture – the lower is its propensity for qualitative analysis and comprehension of cartoons. It is noted that the number of cartoons seen is a factor that negatively affects the development level of the child’s capacity for symbolic mediation. Recommendations are given on proper selection of animated films before showing them to a child.
