The article discusses how to explain the phenomenon of death to a child. The author shows that a grownup should refrain from personal experience and own understanding of death when explaining it to a child, keeping in mind psychological traits of young children, - for a grownup in this matter sets a model of death’s perception. The author also advises to use appropriate literature as a tool for accepting death and turning to grief.

Role play’s developmental function for preschoolers is axiomatic for national psychologists and pedagogues. However, in 1970’s child psychologies noticed that due to various reasons natural transfer of play skills from senior to younger children became troubled. The article views the structure of modern child play and analyzes its influence on child’s development.
