Elizaveta Bogatyreva is a preschool teacher at School No. 236 named after Hero of the Soviet Union G.I. Shchedrin in Moscow. Her work has been recognized for its high level of professionalism, innovative approaches to interaction with children and parents, and her ability to create a space in the preschool where every child feels heard, safe, and inspired.
In her new role, Elizaveta will participate in the development and promotion of key initiatives aimed at raising the prestige of the preschool teacher profession, strengthening local support for teachers, and developing practices for engaging families in the educational process.
"I don't see my job as telling everyone how great things are in our group," Elizaveta says. "But rather, it's to convey to management what teachers really need so they can work with joy and avoid burnout. What's important to parents? How can we make the experience of the best preschool teachers accessible to everyone?"
As a reminder, the "Educator of the Year of Russia" competition has been held jointly by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers since 2008. During this time, it has become the main platform for identifying and supporting talented teachers. More than 12,000 specialists have completed the competition, and 87 winners have become mentors in the regions.
The appointment of Elizaveta Bogatyreva marks the first time that a competition winner has received direct access to the development of state policy in preschool education. This is a signal that educators are not just employees, but key experts whose experience should influence the system.
"We listen to teachers. And now we give them not only an award but also a voice in decision-making," the Ministry of Education emphasized.
