The Minister noted that the preschool education system currently covers more than 6 million children in the country. There are over 300,000 preschool groups, staffed by over 600,000 teachers. The head of the department emphasized the importance of this stage in a child's development and thanked the teachers and directors of preschools for their work.
Key objectives for the coming year include supporting preschool workers and enhancing the prestige of their profession. Plans include developing new teaching tools for teachers and launching a unified Russian digital resource aimed at teachers and parents. The "Kind Games" and "Orlyata-Preschoolers" projects will also be implemented in the regions.
Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Elena Yampolskaya, speaking at the event, emphasized the need to strengthen the educational component in preschools, create unified teaching aids and design standards for preschool institutions, and develop a common digital platform.
During the ceremony, regional representatives participated in a teleconference to open kindergartens in the Vladimir and Novgorod regions, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Novosibirsk region. Participants were treated to an exhibition of key educational projects, operated by the Institute for the Study of Childhood, Family, and Education, the Rosdetcenter, and the Russian Society "Knowledge."
The decision to establish the Year of Preschool Education was announced by the Ministry of Education in December. This measure aims to improve kindergarten infrastructure, enhance the quality of child care and development, and support teachers.
