The Caucasus Forum outlined priorities for developing human capital and passing on traditions

The 3rd Caucasus Investment Forum (CIF-2026) concluded in Mineralnye Vody, attracting a record number of participants and signing agreements worth approximately 400 billion rubles.

The scale of the business program, which included more than 70 events, demonstrated that modern investments are unthinkable without investing in human capital, which begins to form in preschool and childhood.

Although direct agreements on the construction of kindergartens were not the forum's focus, an analysis of the event's content reveals a paradigm shift. As Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted during a meeting on the socioeconomic development of the North Caucasus Federal District, schools and kindergartens are being actively created and modernized in the regions with federal support. This demonstrates that childhood infrastructure is recognized as an integral part of the investment climate.

A key trend of the CIF-2026 was the synchronization of educational programs with the real needs of the economy. The North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) set an example by signing a series of strategic agreements aimed at full-cycle personnel training, from career guidance for young people to advanced training programs for existing professionals. This approach emphasizes that the foundation for future professional success is laid at an early age, when basic cognitive abilities and a passion for learning are formed. Without high-quality preschool education that develops engineering thinking and soft skills, the implementation of high-tech projects in the agro-industrial complex, energy, and smart cities is impossible.

The Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by the President, gave the forum a special resonance. The 2026 CIF included the large-scale project "Festival of the Peoples of the Caucasus" and the creative industries forum "Soul of Russia. South."

For preschool teachers, this is a direct signal of the demand for education based on traditional spiritual and moral values. Participants in the discussions concluded that cultural identity and intangible heritage are now becoming economic assets. The transmission of traditions begins with lullabies, folk tales, and the introduction to crafts within the walls of kindergarten. Investments in creating an ethnocultural environment in preschools and in training educators skilled in immersive national culture methods are not simply a tribute to the past, but a contribution to the creative economies of the regions. A child who has absorbed the unique cultural code of their people from childhood will be able to create competitive local brands and develop the hospitality industry, which were discussed at length at the forum.

It is significant that a significant portion of the forum's program was devoted to Young Entrepreneur Day. Students and schoolchildren received a platform for startups, mentoring support, and access to investors. This focus on youth confirms that smart investments in education at all levels, from preschool to higher education, create a sustainable pipeline of talent for the innovative economy of the North Caucasus Federal District.

The Caucasus Investment Forum 2026 clearly demonstrated that the concept of "investment" today is interpreted much more broadly than simply financial injections. It is a long-term investment in the development of individuals, rooted in tradition and prepared for technological challenges.

This material is based on data from the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the results of the Caucasus Investment Forum 2026, and business program materials.
