Abstract

Along with technological progress and social changes come new technologies and new values. The author shows how a toy, while a mean of transmission of culture values, ethical and aesthetical norms from older generation to the youth, reflects not only shifts in technology, but also changes in socio-cultural context. This article compares modern toys and those manufactured in former Soviet Union.
